Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t uploaded in ages. I’ve been on holiday to Cyprus. That’s not the topic though. I went to an afternoon tea. Now you may think that’s boring but there is a twist. It was Japanese themed! Me and my family went to a restaurant called Nozomi. It was a Japanese themed place and afternoon tea. As you scroll down, you will see everything I had. If I was a real food critic I’d rate 5 star. I absolutely loved it. Ok let’s get on to the first thing!!
1. Different types of tea.
2.Sushi
3 Duck spring rolls
4.fried prawns
Ok. So number one as you saw was different types of tea. As you know, you can get lots of tea like earl grey, green tea and just regular tea. But the teas I had were Jasmin pearl and Ceylon Rose. The Ceylon Rose was the better one for me. (4/5). The Jasmine pearl was good aswell but it wasn’t as good. (3/5). My mom had the same as me. I don’t remember what dad had and my brother had a coffee. Boring! Considering I don’t drink regular tea, I was surprised by the flavour. Definitely recommend them teas if you ever go to Nozomi. Ok on to the second one which is…..
SUSHI!!! I love sushi. The first time I tried it I wasn’t keen but now I love it! The two types of sushi were salmon and tuna. I liked the salmon better. I thought the salmon represented more of the fishy flavour. If you don’t know me already, I love seafood. I like it perfect and that salmon falls into that category. (5/5). However the tuna didn’t have the fishy vibe from it. It didn’t taste like it came out the sea whereas the salmon did. It’s strange because usually I love tuna but this time it wasn’t luring me in. (2/5) Overall the sushi was good and bad. That’s enough of talking fishy though. Why don’t we go on to….
Duck. No not duck on a plate. Duck spring roll. It was literally filled with duck. It was nice but I wish there was more flavour. There could have been some zing or spice to it, give it more personality. ( 3/5). The duck was cooked nice but like I said it could have used more flavour. There isn’t really much to say about the duck. It’s kind of interesting I guess but not really. We could have them at a Chinese, not a Japanese restaurant. Ok. Let’s quack on with the final thing of savoury. That luxury thing is……
PRAWNS!!!!! As one of my favourite foods, I was hoping they’d be good. And boy was I in for a treat! They were not only prawns but they were fried prawns. They were… I can’t even describe it. There is only 2 words to describe them. Mouth watering. (5/5). I know there not really Japanese but either way , Japanese or not, love them like chocolate. Maybe even more than chocolate. That’s it… for the savoury. There is still more things to come. As you could’ve guessed, we are moving on to sweet. Get ready for a sugary adventure!
1.Panna cotta.
2. Vanilla ice cream and green tea powdered biscuit
3. A very fluffy cake with cream
Ok. Puddings not that interesting. The only one I thought was interesting was the panna cotta. If you look back at the picture you will see it’s got pink on the top. At first I didn’t know what it was but then I realised it was sugar! It was a bit like a sugary gel if you know what I mean. I didn’t like the feel of it in my mouth but apart from that it was ok. The panna cotta itself though was ok. It was vanilla flavour and tasted nice but what I didn’t like was the texture. Usually, panna cotta has a bit of a wobble to it. The one I had acted like whipped cream. It looks like real panna cotta but it’s not. (4/5) The panna cotta was the only time I used an actual utensil. I used or at least attempted to use chopsticks. That was a fail. But you know what isn’t. The next pudding. The next pudding is……
The biscuit and ice cream! To me at first glance, it looked like strawberry ice cream and a cookie that got green food colouring in. But no. It was vanilla ice cream with matcha sprinkled on the top, a green tea biscuit and a raspberry. The ice cream just tasted normal. It was just a bit softer (3/5). The ice cream was boring. If it wasn’t for the matcha I’d rate it one. Of course I didn’t eat the raspberry because I don’t like them. The biscuit however I loved. It was gorgeous. It almost made me feel like I didn’t want to eat it. But of course I did. It was baked to perfection and the green tea flavour really brung out a biscuits potential. It’s not just a biscuit, it’s a biscuit with knowledge. It knows how to taste and how to look. In other words it was yummy. We are now going onto the final item. The final item is…….
A cake. Doesn’t sound interesting does it. At first it wasn’t to me but that bite changed everything. The cake was so fluffy! Even though it was vanilla, it had a great texture. To be honest with you, it doesn’t feel like a cake. Or should I say a muffin. It was softer than a regular muffin. But that’s not the point. If it was a piece of art, I’d call it The work of food minds. It had its golden colour to it which I love. Overall, the cake was delicious. (4/5)
Here comes the sad part. We have to say goodbye, but only until next time -don’t worry.I hope you enjoyed my blog. Once again, a massive sorry for not uploading, I will do it more often. Bye everyone. Have a fun filled day!! 😀 x
